Freemen

Freemen
OK so there`s five men
The group generally portrays a self contained band of mercenary fighters on campaign. Whilst the combat of the period is a great part of the overall display it is by no means the most important or only element. The whole encampment is there to re-create the life of people in the medieval age and encompasses interesting living history and craft displays with informative and educational commentary. Each event is usually tailored to the venue and any specific requirements of the organiser. Where possible we will utilise the history of historic locations as a backdrop to enhance the experience for the visitors.

Hi all.
WOW, I hadn`t realised....  It`s been a while since I last posted on here. I`m so sorry for neglecting this Blogg I will be popping in more often in future, I promise.
The Freemen have been very busy over the last 10 or so years. We`ve kept going through thick and thin.
But this year ( 2020 ) has really been hard for us, just like it has for any other reenactment group or event organiser or venue.
Here`s hoping that 2021 brings with it a revitalised reenactment season. I know the Feemen will be giving it 110% as we usually do.

Great news.... Our new website is now up and running, so please check it out at www.fremenofgwent.co.uk We are very proud of it as it was created by one of our very talented members, Ann.

Anyway, I`ll try and get some articles together for this Blog and keep it active with snippets of information.

See you soon.
