The Freemen of Gwent are a medieval re-enactment group primarily based in South Wales, although we have members located far and wide across the country. We look to portray the period from the early years of the 100 Years War (1337) up to and including the Battle of Agincourt (1415). This period was overseen by Edward III, Richard II and Henry V

OK so there`s five men
The group generally portrays a self contained band of mercenary fighters on campaign. Whilst the combat of the period is a great part of the overall display it is by no means the most important or only element. The whole encampment is there to re-create the life of people in the medieval age and encompasses interesting living history and craft displays with informative and educational commentary. Each event is usually tailored to the venue and any specific requirements of the organiser. Where possible we will utilise the history of historic locations as a backdrop to enhance the experience for the visitors.
